Cape Town Wetlands City | 5050 Story
Wetlands are some of the most threatened ecosystems in the world, yet they are amongst the most important. Our most famous and biggest wetland is the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, but there are thousands of smaller, and equally valuable, wetlands across the country.
Like in Cape Town – a city that’s well-known for its mountains and beaches, but did you know this city is actually also rich in wetlands? And, there are a number of people and projects working together to conserve and restore these in the city. This episode digs into this a bit deeper to learn more about these wetlands and see if there’s anything that we, as ordinary citizens, can do to help protect them.
